Safety Rules and Regulations

Lasiter & Lasiter Plumbing is serious about safety. These safety rules and regulations are mandatory and are for the employee’s protection as well as the protection of other employees and property.

- Area Managers will immediately be called to the scene in case of vehicle or work related accident.
- An accident report will be completed and turned in to the office manager.
- Every accident will be followed up by a drug test that day.

- Installation of fixtures
- While working in or on cabinets
- All overhead work and top outs
- During any concrete chipping or jackhammering
- When using any power tool
- When chemical labeling or MSDS requires use of safety glasses
- Whenever the leadmen require it
- When soldering copper

- Wear hard hats whenever there is an overhead hazard.
- Wear hard soled shoes at all times.
- Make sure hand rails are in place.
- Make sure power poles are grounded. (GFCI protected)
- Keep work areas clean. (Boards with nails/walking surfaces clear)
- Walk, don’t run.
- Use proper lifting techniques.
- Inspect tools and equipment before using them.
- Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on company property or job      sites at any time.
- Fire extinguishers must be inside all top outs and finals or where      fire or heat are being used.
- Proper use of ladders
- Wear seat belts while vehicle is in motion.

Failure to follow these rules will result in disciplinary action. Regular field visits will be conducted to ensure the rules are being observed. A safety enhancement program will be implemented to uphold our standard of being a "Safety First" company.

Enforcement

On August 1st, 2000, we will start handing out citations that will go into your personnel file for a 5 month period. Citations for the same violation will be as follows:

1st violation- Documented Verbal Warning
2nd violation- Written citation/ $10 charge
3rd violation- Written citation/ $10 charge
4th violation-Written citation/ $10 charge
5th violation- Written citation/ $25 charge
6th violation- Possible termination

* There will be a $50 fine for working in a house with no hand rails.

* Based on the magnitude and gravity of the violation, any of the steps may be bypassed in favor of termination.

The following areas of safety will be monitored, however this list can be amended as deemed necessary:

All leadmen and apprentices will sign any citation issued to them. Copies will be kept in personnel files. This policy is in effect as of August 1, 2000. It is subject to change at the end of a six month probationary period.
